As a student teacher at Williamsburg High School this Spring, I am gained a great deal of experience, developing and presenting a number of lessons which follow the New York Standards for Mathematics in 9th grade. I differentiate instruction for a diverse population of 9th graders with different learning styles and create an optimal learning environment of mutual respect with effective classroom management skills. The goal of my work is to create a comfortable and successful learning environment for all of my students. Alternate assessment methods, such as portfolios, rubrics and performance assessments, in combination with traditional tests, enabled me to evaluate the students individually and comprehensively.
